The Imposter Syndrome - Operate in your genius!

Everytime I start something new, this feeling of self doubt crawls in and weakens the motivation that I already built. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels like this in my most susceptible moments.
I mean, most of us all had instances where we were told as children not to be loud about wins, and keep quiet till it's our turn, and growing up as adults, we achieve things and feel like it's not worth celebrating, and there, the imposter syndrome creeps in.

Over the times, I've come to learn and understand that there's no external validation I need to seek to know I'm on the right path. The “remedy” to imposter syndrome isn't just being confident or working harder. In fact, most times, we do all of these and more, but the societal structure we live in, have this typical way of downplaying our success, thereby attributing to the feeling of unworthiness that lives in us.

The only way never to have this imposter syndrome is to never grow. Anyone with an iota of ambition is constantly going to be striving at new levels of success by which is going to take you to more taxing territories.
As my favourite quote would say, “there is no such thing as ready. If you wait to be ready, the day will never come.”

It is almost natural that the society outpour the imposter syndrome that we are deep-rooted in, but we need to practice more on self kindness and compassion. We need to define who we really are behind those promotions, demotions, grades, financial issues and whatever it is. We need to re-evaluate how we view ourselves.

Be kind to you. If the anxiety creeps in, remember that feelings are never factual. Break those walls of self doubt today, by acknowledging your fears and facing them.

Stretch you and level up! Own your greatness! Be loud about your wins! Operate in your genius!

The discomfort won't last forever.

  1. It's brief and heartwarming. The society, consciously or unconsciously, has taught us to not be too hyper about our wins and now, we don't know how else to react to our wins than to shush ourselves. It's tough fighting. Everyday, you think you've been able to chip off a block and the next day, it's like that same block reenforced and came back to look you right in the face.

    We will win, regardless.
