Let's be sincere, everyone of us struggle with distraction to some extent. This diversion of attention could be in any form; it could be the phone beeping from messages, or the growling sound our stomach makes from hunger, or the panic and anxiety that creeps in some people, for some certain reasons. Most times, it is the burning desire to peep our social media apps and check who has liked that stunning selfie of ours over the last few hours. Distraction can even be more abundant when we are away from home, probably in high school or just somewhere distant, facing life thoroughly. Then our minds wander in thoughts of how our families and dear ones are fairing. But distractions as students, could be one major concern as most times, our schedules are unstructured and we are choked up between meeting up with all that study sessions and cramming all that we are being taught. The Imposter Syndrome - Operate in your genius!

Everytime I start something new, this feeling of self doubt crawls in and weakens the motivation that I already built. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels like this in my most susceptible moments. I mean, most of us all had instances where we were told as children not to be loud about wins, and keep quiet till it's our turn, and growing up as adults, we achieve things and feel like it's not worth celebrating, and there, the imposter syndrome creeps in. Over the times, I've come to learn and understand that there's no external validation I need to seek to know I'm on the right path. The “remedy” to imposter syndrome isn't just being confident or working harder. In fact, most times, we do all of these and more, but the societal structure we live in, have this typical way of downplaying our success, thereby attributing to the feeling of unworthiness that lives in us.
